I am an award-winning nature photographer based in Colorado, with a passion for creating memorable and distinctive images of everything from tiny snowflakes to grand landscapes. As a PhD scientist by training, I have always been detail-oriented, and love the mix of creative and technical aspects of outdoor photography. I try to capture both commonly and rarely viewed scenes, and present them in a unique way. I have a particular interest in photographing subjects that capture both the power and fragility of nature. There is often a temporal aspect to many of my images – whether the fleeting moment of a water droplet moving down a fragile icicle, long exposures of cascading waterfalls, or the sense of cumulative erosion over many thousands of years to produce fantastic geological formations, though those scenes are also temporary – just on a very different timescale! It is my hope that viewers of my work feel the same connection and awe that I do of nature through one or more of my images.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my online portfolio, and the many different print options. Feel free to contact me with any questions about images, equipment used, or suggested print media. I can also work with you to envision how large prints would look on the wall of your living space or office.
